About Us
At Happy Fins, we’re more than just a swim school – we’re a family-run, local business dedicated to providing an exceptional experience from the moment you walk through our doors. Founded by Nick and Amanda in 2023, Happy Fins was born from their shared passion for swimming and commitment to creating something truly special for families in our community.
Amanda’s love for swimming began in childhood, leading her to represent Cambridge and Biggleswade at county-level competitions before becoming a swim teacher. Nick brings nearly a decade of experience working with some of the UK's top private swim schools. Together, their combined expertise and enthusiasm offer a fresh approach to family swimming lessons.
Our swim school has been carefully crafted by parents, swimmers, and experienced instructors, all with one goal in mind – to nurture a love of swimming while ensuring the safety of every child. As a family business, we understand the importance of building a close-knit swimming community where everyone feels supported.
We believe every achievement, no matter how small, deserves recognition. That’s why we’ve developed an award scheme that celebrates milestones and builds self-confidence, allowing swimmers to take pride in their progress.
With a maximum instructor-to-child ratio of 2:1 for swimmers aged 3+, and small group sizes for infants aged 3 months to 3 years, our swim-play approach ensures that every child gets the attention they need.
At Happy Fins, we prioritise water safety and equip our swimmers with essential life-saving skills, fostering both respect for water and a sense of responsibility.
Join us at Happy Fins Swim School – where we’re not just teaching swimming; we’re building a community, celebrating achievements, and creating a safer world for our children.
Crafted by parents, swimmers, and experienced instructors who share a common goal - to nurture a love for swimming and ensure the safety of every child in and around the water.
“A positive experience and a creative teacher can lead to a life time of loving the water.”
— Nick, Co-Founder of Happy Fins
